6/1/2006: Westec Introduces New Retrofit Profiles

Westec 688 retrofit and 638 cap system used in an expansion around a circular tank foundation. The Westec 688 Retrofit Profile is designed to perfectly marry into Westec’s 638 cap system as shown. Also note the use of the Speed Load sleeves to ensure alignment and adequate slippage of slip dowels.

Despite the unique nature of the industry, Westec Engineers encounter recurring needs while advising professionals who design and construct secondary containment structures. The ability to safely expand an existing structure is a common objective and most of these applications can be efficiently serviced with Westec’s 629 or 630 “T” shaped retrofit profiles. However, as problem solvers, Westec designers have identified a need to introduce additional retrofit profiles, including external retrofits for finished structures and retrofits for isolation joints.
